Master Blender’s Selection No. 5 is the fifth release in Hennessy’s Master Blender’s Series of single-batch bottlings that will never be replicated. This year’s release was created by eighth-generation Master Blender, Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, and pays homage to the 18 families of
distillers who are the bedrock of our supply and expertly craft exceptional eaux-de-vie -exclusively for Hennessy. Many of these families have ties to Hennessy that date back more than 200 years. The Master Blender limited his selection of eaux-de-vie to those from the 18 families, of
800 passionate distillers that we work with. Then, he narrowed the selection to the highest-quality batches, those that he considered superior in quality. What’s interesting about MBS 5 is the unprecedented selection process.

THE LIQUID

•   Selecting at least one eaux-de-vie per family, Renaud blended their characters and personalities to create this inimitable cognac. This blend embodies a perfect harmony of the selected eaux-de-vie and reveals a powerful cognac on the palate with delicate nuances of cocoa, spices,

and candied orange.

The Master Blender’s Selection N°5 is a personal blend and a distinctive expression of the Hennessy craft. This single-batch created from eaux-de-vie was hand-selected by Master Blender Renaud Fillioux de Gironde to pay tribute to exclusive distillers.

Color:

The richest, most complex of the Master Blender’s Selection, N°5 presents deep amber hues with endless reflections of patinated gold that denote its excellent quality. Exceptional eaux-de-vie made by 18 family-run exclusive distillers were hand-selected for this cognac blend so that they could reveal their full potential.

Nose:

A highly structured, multi-faceted and intense cognac, Master Blender Selection N° extends an invitation into a sophisticated world shaped by spice and candied orange, a beautiful aromatic complexity that deserves to be discovered note by note.

Palate:

On the palate, the blend opens with delightful pastry notes of cocoa, sweet spices, and a comforting creaminess. There follow subtle notes of tobacco and candied orange that unfold in bursts, leading to a broader, enveloping expression of sweet, strong fruitiness.
