Blended to replicate as closely as possible Trader Vic's "second adjusted" Mai Tai rum formula, this blend of funky Jamaican pot-still rum and rich Rhum Grande Arome from Martinique (a molasses based rum, unusual for the island most famous for its sugar cane juice based Rhum Agricole) does its job beautifully. Though it may shine brightest in a Mai Tai, it holds its own as a well balanced sipper as well.Intensely aromatic and unapologetically funky, the rum has tons of fuel, balanced with tree bark, wet earth, coconut (husks and all), and caramel syrup. A modern classic.
